Dear friends! This will probably be the only article presented as a free and informal introduction of ourselves and our short history. Other content, for obvious reasons is of a more official character. My first meeting with Wyznawcami Słońca (Worshipers of the Sun) had its place in the city of Wrocław at the beginning of 2023. Due to the fact that spirituality played a central part of my life, I became interested in this community. This was mainly because of their direct connection to Sun Worship and pantheism.
Earlier in our country, very rarely did I meet people that were dedicated to solar worship. This form of spirituality is especially close to me because of my connection to the spiritual practice of – sādhana. This is one of the oldest traditions present in Hinduism. After many years of searching, by the grace of my Spiritual Teacher (guru), I received my first consecration (dīkṣā) in India in Autumn 2005. Two years later, I was blessed by my Spiritual Teacher with a practice of Sun Worship (sūrya). My spiritual journey is ongoing and I have the awareness that there is a lot that waits ahead.
Being fascinated by the Divinity present in this sādhana along with how it change my life, I accepted an invitation from my spiritual sister – Joanna, who looks after the spiritual branch of the council of the Sun Worshipers in Wrocław (Wrocławska Gminą Wyznaniowa). I was later officially appointed as a spiritual leader to conduct missionary work. Our small community in Lublin was later called to build a physical place of worship – the temple of the Sun God.
With Divine assistance we found the right place for our center. People showed up, thanks to whom we were able to realize our spiritual desire. Here, I wish to thank everyone who supported and assisted us spiritually and materially. They kept our spirits high during the many months of work and preparation to open the Temple dedicated to Sūrya.
A big task for us was the creation of this website – SŪRYA KĀNAN. We aimed for this site to contain lots of reliable information in a concise manner. Above all, we wanted it to reflect the character of ancient tradition, both through presented knowledge and presented graphics. We created a team of six individuals, who within a few months of working on the website exchanged over 1200 emails. Over 600 drafts, photographs, drawings were exchanged for the most faithful rendering of the forms of goddesses and gods described in this Tradition. Within five months of work, Veranika Tsyneuskaya drew dozens of drawings for us. Thanks to that, our website contains original works, which gives the website a unique character.
We also ordered handmade statues, altars and other objects from India – made for worshiping deities. They all arrived in Lublin, to SŪRYA KĀNAN. I wish to express my gratitude for the help and encouragement of all that contributed to the creation of our little temple. Many people involved themselves in this process. Although it is not possible to list them all, may the Grace of Sūrya Deva always be present in your lives!
I wish to express particular gratitude to my venerable teacher – Manu Guruji for His grace, blessings, inspiration and patience towards me. I also want to greatly thank my wonderful friend Yogānandajī. Without his kindness and help, I would not be able to furnish our temple in Lublin with items made in India. In addition, I express my gratitude towards Joanna Bijak from Gminy SUNNY WROCŁAW for her presence and consistent financing of our operations in Lublin. My gratitude is also expressed to the Council of the First Sun Worshipers (Rady Pierwszych Wyznawców Słońca), whose supervisor Łukasz Zalega – helped support our spiritual mission.
We hope that with time SŪRYA KĀNAN will become a small spiritual oasis in our fast-paced world. In addition, we hope that many spiritual travelers will be able to find respite and grace of Sūrya Deva at our temple.
